Plastic pollution in our oceans is a growing crisis, much like the "elephant in the room" we've ignored for too long. When plastic was first invented, it was celebrated as a breakthrough material—a substitute for ivory that could save elephants from slaughter. Yet today, the "echoes" of plastic reverberate through ecosystems, putting countless species at risk.
Have we learned anything in the 150 years since plastic was invented? While elephants certainly remember, our overconsumption and throwaway culture continues to lead to a buildup of plastic waste, harming ecosystems worldwide.
This survey explores how our daily behavior contributes to marine litter. By better understanding the effects of plastic usage, we can work toward more sustainable solutions to reduce ocean pollution. It will take just six minutes of your time, and your input will contribute to science in shaping a cleaner future for our oceans. The survey is anonymous, and your data will be used exclusively for statistical purposes.
As a fun addition to our survey, we’ve included a short knowledge quiz. By completing the survey, you’ll also discover your environmental personality type—whether you’re Team Ocean, Team Neutral, or Team Plastic. Be sure to finish it to see your results!
