Following the enormous success of the first Web Survey Day (WSD 2012), we organized the WSD 2013, which was held on Thursday, 26th September 2013. The event was attended by over 180 participants from the public sector, including education and research institutions, and also from the private sector, media outlets and PR agencies. The main focus of the event was the development of an online questionnaire; the guest of honour was Dr Jon A. Krosnick from Stanford University, USA.
The event consisted of three parts. In the introductory part, Dr Vasja Vehovar (9 a.m. - 10 a.m.) first introduced the process of developing a web questionnaire, where he gave practical examples and highlighted the importance of the migration of the questionnaire development on the web. He then held an interactive session with Dr Jon A. Krosnick (10 a.m. - 11 a.m.), who illustrated his extensive experience in the field of web survey methodology and answered questions from participants.
In the second part (11.30 a.m. - 12:30 a.m.), several user meetings were held – Introduction to 1KA (Marjana Top), Review Workshop of 1KA (Gregor Čehovin), Advanced and new functionalities of the 1KA tool (Dr Andraž Petrovčič) and Internal use, virtual domain, own installation and integration (Dr Vasja Vehovar).
